As an engagement photographer, there are few things more rewarding than capturing the love between two people. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing Carla and David’s engagement session in Astoria Park in Queens, New York. Adding to the charm of the session was Archie, Carla and David’s beloved furry companion. Being a dog owner myself, it was a pleasure to have him participate in the shoot!
The day of the shoot couldn’t have been more perfect. On the first warm day of the year, the sun bathed the park in a golden light, perfect for our photoshoot. Despite the park’s busyness, I managed to capture Carla and David’s love with precision, isolating them from the crowd. Each photo, whether a secret kiss under trees or a playful scene with Archie, overflowed with genuine emotion. Moving further into the park, I chose secluded yet scenic spots to keep Carla and David at the forefront of every shot.
One highlight of the session was photographing Carla and David by the park’s iconic Hell Gate Bridge. Its towering steel arches and views of the East River offered a dramatic backdrop. It symbolized strength, resilience, and the promise of new beginnings in their love story.
As the sun began to set, casting a golden hue over the park, we wrapped up our session with a few final shots along the waterfront. Looking back on the day, I feel grateful to have been Carla and David’s engagement photographer. I’m looking forward to capturing the next chapter of their journey together at The Mill at Lakeside Manor.
